Transfer Authority
Transfer token mint and administrative authority to another wallet address for governance or team transitions.
What is Token Authority?
Token authority grants special permissions over a token, including the ability to:
- Mint new tokens to increase supply
- Freeze accounts to prevent transfers
- Update token metadata and settings
- Revoke the authority permanently

Authority Transfer Options
Single Wallet Transfer
Transfer authority to another individual wallet address. Simple and direct, but puts all control in one address. Best for personal projects or trusted individuals.
Multisig Wallet Transfer
Multisig Wallet Transfer
Transfer to a multisig wallet requiring multiple signatures for authority actions. Enhances security and distributes control among multiple parties. Recommended for serious projects.
DAO/Smart Contract Transfer
Transfer to a governance contract or DAO where token holders vote on authority decisions. Provides maximum decentralization and community control.
⚠️ Critical Warning
Authority transfer is IMMEDIATE and IRREVERSIBLE. Once transferred, you lose all control:
- • You cannot mint new tokens
- • You cannot update token metadata
- • You cannot freeze accounts
- • You cannot get the authority back unless the new owner transfers it
- • The new owner has complete control
Before Transferring
- • Triple-check the recipient address (copy-paste errors are permanent)
- • Verify youre sending to the correct network (SUI mainnet)
- • Ensure the recipient understands their new responsibilities
- • Document the transfer for team records
- • Consider using a multisig instead of single wallet
- • Test with a smaller token first if unsure
After Transferring
- • Verify the transfer was successful on blockchain explorer
- • Update project documentation with new authority address
- • Announce to community if relevant for transparency
- • Confirm new owner can access and use the authority
- • Keep transfer transaction hash for records
